Potter’s Wheel Experience Session – 1-2 hours
A fun introduction to the potter’s wheel with tuition. Great for individuals, couples, and small groups. It is also good fun to watch! You will have a potter guide you and show you all the techniques to make at least 1 pot. You can take your pots home or choose to have them fired and return to glaze them another day. You can book Saturday am or pm or Friday afternoon. Sundays and evenings may be available for groups.
Cost £45 per person (children must be 8 years over).
We have 6 wheels, but private sessions can be arranged. Take your pots home to decorate with acrylics as a decorative item or we can fire them for a small fee. The cost to fire your pot and to return to glaze a few weeks later is £20 per person. We can also glaze for you in a colour of your choice.
Parties
Add a fun session on the potter’s wheel to your party. Two people at a time can experience the wheel and create their own pot during a pottery painting party.

Pottery Wheel Experience Party – for children (age 8 and over)
Children can get hands on with cl and have a go at throwing their own pot. A brilliant experience for creative children. The session is around an hour. The cost is £270 for up to 6 children. The children can take their pots home to dry and decorate with acrylics at home for a decorative keepsake.
Private pottery wheel party experience for adults and children/Hen Parties/Baby Showers
Bring your closest fiends together for a fun and relaxed private pottery wheel experience. The session is all about having fun, getting creative and having fun together. You will each have your own wheel and you will be guided through the basics of throwing clay. Expect plenty of laughs and a bit of mess!
Experience includes:
- Private session for up to 6.
- Friendly instruction and guidance throughout.
- Clay, all equipment and aprons.
Your finished pieces will be dried and fired in our kiln. When they are ready, you can collect your handmade keepsakes. Cost £315 for up to 6 people. To make it even more special, add a return and paint session at Barn Studio Ceramics to decorate your pot £15 per person.
Food
Our pottery wheel sessions are a hands on experience working with clay, water and pottery equipment. For health and safety reasons, food cannot be eaten in the pottery area. Clay materials are not suitable around food. For this reason are wheel parties are focused entirely on the pottery experience. It means we can keep the whole session dedicated to making pottery with plenty of messy, creative fun. We recommend enjoying your food before or after your experience. There are plenty of places nearby, and we have The Wave cafe on site where you can book a table
(There would be an additional cost if any of the pots were fired afterwards).
The cost to have your pot fired and to return to glaze it a few weeks later is £20 per person.

Clay Handbuilding
Create pottery forms using hand, fingers, and simple tools. The 3 main techniques are coil pots, slab building and pinch pots.
Open Sessions
1-2 hours
Make anything you like with clay and be creative.
A relaxing way to spend a couple of hours.
We will give you tips and guidance.
The cost is £25 per person and includes firing of your items.
